Birthday party- Szulinapi buli
We were celebrating my husband's 30th birthday on Friday though his birthday was on Friday. I was so excited to prepare for it.
Unfortunately we don't have pictures of the food itself, but it was great. I mean at least it looked nice. Martin's favorite cake is anything with cottage cheese. When I asked him what kind of birthday cake he would want. He said he wants chocolate cottage cheese cake. I have never heard anything like that. I started to search on the internet, but I could not find anything like that. Then I offered I would make cottage cheese cake with fruits, but you know that was just not chocolate. So, we went to the shop and bought a little birthday cake and I started to examine. I think after we ate the whole half kilo of it. I was done with the research :)
Ok, we did not eat the whole thing within one night. So, I made a chocolate cottage cheese cake to my Dear.
I think these information are just fun. I never knew that here almost all the cakes are made with cottage cheese, so as I did not know that either that my husband called his nation a potato eater nation. My doctor called Latvians milk drinkers.
And I have been always planning to write as I read in Lyssa and Dave's blog, that here in Latvia the most common shops are the hair dressers and pharmacies, and money exchange places and bag shops. There is one main road here in Riga, where within walking 10 minutes you can find 5 pharmacy (it is not close to the hospital, but actually there are two of them also close to that main street).
So, about the birthday party. It was great. After all the guests left we knocked on our neighbor lady's door and invited her to come and eat with us since we had so so much food left from the party. And she came and it was also great because we have been planning this also a long time ago.

We finally arrived- Vegre megerkeztunk
We finally arrived to our new apartment on Friday.
We were planning to move in on Thursday because that is when they promised to come and install internet for us. We were waiting and waiting and then finally my husband called them and the lady said: oh, sorry that man will not make it till Tuesday. So, we had to stay another night in the old apartment because my husband had to work and he needed internet for it, but in the morning when we still did not know that we would not have internet we packed our stuff and moved everything to the new apartment. Actually that even happened on Wednesday night.
Our sofa did not fit the car on Wednesday night so they thought we should take it into parts and then hopefully it would fit the car. So, early morning (Thursday) my husband took the sofa into two pieces. Then we thought we could even just carry them to the new apartment (since it is only just a 10 minutes walk from our old place). So, my little cute bunny grabbed the bottom part of the sofa which actually looked like an ark and started to walk with it. He looked like Noah and the ark and it was even raining. I put all the bedding into my bag and started to carry that.
So, Martin left a little bit earlier than me and as I was walking towards our home I saw once the sofa (high in the air) it was over my husband's head. It was a funny scene, but in the meantime I also felt sorry for him, that he had to carry it alone.
Then we walked back to the old apartment and find out that the internet guy will not come until Tuesday.
Then we went to church since it was Thursday night. That is Family History night, which means that my husband is waiting for the members to go to the Family History Center so that he could help them. While he is there I am teaching Finnish to one of my friends, but actually on that night I went to the sisters’ English class because my friend couldn’t come.
So, we got home late and we had to decide if we go to the new apartment to get back the bottom part of the sofa and all the blankets etc or we are going to stay in the old apartment and sleep on the top part of the sofa. Yes, we stayed in the old apartment and luckily we did not bring our curtains to the new apartment so we could use as a blanket. It was again very funny. I even had the feeling that we are on vacation.
Then the next day the elders came with their big van and helped us to bring the top part of the sofa to our new apartment. So, on Friday afternoon we officially arrived to our new home.
There are still some stories that I would like to tell.
At first, about our internet: we had an 18 months contract with the company. Then we called them that we would want to cancel it starting from March. Then the guy told us that in this case we have to pay a 100 lats (40000HUF) because we would still have 6 months left from the 18 months. Not even mentioning that when we signed that contract the internet price was just the half of the price that we are paying right now.
Then without telling us they doubled the price. So, we found another company who is offering internet for just the one third of that price which we are paying right now.
So, of course we wanted the cheaper one. Then as that man told us that we still have 6 months left then we thought oh, well for that 6 moths then we can still have this one and then in September we sign up for the other one. Then we called them again and asked how much does it cost to install the internet into our new apartment. They said it is free, but in this case we have to sign for another 18 months. And when we were waiting for them on Thursday they did not even call us to tell us that they will not come.
I know that this is really just such a tiny thing and I should not get mad about it, but I am like that. I can make myself so mad when something like this happens with us.
So the second story is about our old apartment. We rented it for a year and because of the financial crises the apartment prices went down in the last couple of months (luckily).
We rented it for 200 lats (80000HUF) and just a month ago I found an advertisement that they are renting out the apartment which is under us for 90 lats (which is even less then the half of the price what we are paying). But luckily by then we already found this new apartment, except we haven’t signed the new contract with the owner so it was still risky if we get it or not. Then not even a week later I found another advertisement that a lady is offering that she would move into someone else's apartment and that she would be willing to pay the community fees and that is all. Can you imagine that???
Yeah, the time is changing. It is a different world new. Or at least this is what I feel.
Then soon after we signed our new contract with the new owner I found our old apartment among the advertisements. She wanted that someone would rent it out for 130 lats (which is 70 lats less than we paid for her) then another week later I saw that she is advertising it for 120 lats and I am wondering if she goes even under 120.
And now I can imagine that even she would rent her apartment out for free if someone pays the community fees which is in winter time about 70 lats for the central heating and that is something that you cannot turn off if no one lives in the apartment.
Then today I found another ad the same kind of apartment for 80 lats, but of course I don’t care about it anymore.
On Wednesday we were at the doctor for our regular check. Is it necessary to mention what happened again?? I mean did you not get used to it if we go to the doctor then the doctor always finds something extraordinary with our baby or with my pregnancy.
Yes, her brand new idea is that I have gestation diabetes. Which might be true, but I will really not freak myself out with it even if it is true.
Jazeps was 28weeks 6 days old on last Wednesday and his weight and measurements equals with a 30 weeks old baby's measurements. Though a month ago I had a blood test to check my glucose level which did not show any problem at that time, but next week we have to go back to a GTT. For those of you, who would not know what it is: it contains two blood tests (one in the morning without eating and then after drinking some sugary liquid they will wait for two hours and then repeat the blood test to see how the body reacts for the huge amount of glucose). Oh, and I even cannot walk within that two hours just sit in one place and wait.
The other issue is my hemoglobin and iron level. Though I have been taking doubled iron pills (twice as much as it is recommended at least on the box of the medicine) over 4 months and now my iron level is getting critical.
Little Jazeps had party yesterday evening and finally my husband was able to witness it as well. Martin was so surprised what he was doing inside and to tell the truth this was the biggest party that I felt so far. So, his little head is already down on my right side and his little body on my left side and his legs are on my right. Just before we would go to ultrasound I felt couple of times his head, but I was absolutely unsure what kind of position he has. Now I can feel that the movements on my right side are his legs.
Other than that we are doing great. Oh, yeah and since we moved out from that old apartment our morning allergies are getting less and less. Every single time when we would enter into that apartment we would feel that something smells so bad there, but after a while we would get used to the smell and would not be able to find where it comes from. Oh, well, it was not a stinky apartment though, but just very old.
On Monday I saw (from the bus) a very cute collie stray dog and on Tuesday we found out that this dog is hanging out (all day) on the other side of our street and just waiting in front of a house for someone. Today we were both so determined to do something, but we did not do anything (so far). When we talked with the owner in the very first time I asked him if we can have a dog and he said of course. And now here is the chance even to help this cute dog, but...
,but I know that we cannot have it right now since we don’t even know how much it will cost to give birth since I don't have an insurance, I mean I do have, but it does not cover birth. And if we call that dog in (which is really just call him in since he is about 5 meters away from our fence) then we have to bring it to the veterinary at first to get some shots for him (actually I don't even know if it is a male or female dog) and we don’t want to risk.

Mar del is elmult es gondoltuk jo lenne kideriteni, hogy hogyan is megy ez az internet bekotes, mivel nem uj kapcsolatrol volt szo, hanem a regi attelepiteserol. Aztan a holgyike lelkesen bejelentette, hogy "ja bocsanat a legkozelebb amikor a pasi tud jonni az majd kedd lesz ja es hat igen elfelejtettunk szolni" de ez mar ugye keso volt mivel addigra mar atvittuk a cuccok nagyreszet, de mivel a ferjem munkajahoz szukseges internet es nem tud majd egy hetig meg lenni nelkule ezert mindenkeppen ki akartuk hasznalni, hogy a regi lakasban hasznaljuk az internetet.

Amugy a kis draga mar szepen elhelyezkedett, remeljuk nem fog atfordulni vagy ilyesmi. A feje az a jobb oldalamon van es lent, a kis teste pedig a bal oldalt es a labikoi pedig jobbra fent. Igazan a fejet ereztem eddig meg es mostanaban a labikokat. Vagy ket napja pont mondtam Martinnak, hogy tegye oda a kezet es vegre hosszu ido utan eloszor olyan ficankolast rendezett babuci mint amilyet meg soha, de szerencsere vegre Martin is erezte. A legjobban az tetszett, hogy bizonysagteteli vasarnapon a fejrem kiment es a bizonysagat tette es babuci eppen akkor kezdett el tancikalni, de ez nem az elso alkalom volt, de hat mit is varhatnek el hiszen az apja fia :)

Mire hazaertunk mar tok faradtak voltunk es ugy dontottunk, hogy akkor alszunk a kanape tetejen es (ez az en otletem volt) mivel a sotetito fuggonyoket meg nem vittuk at, ezert levettuk oket es takarokent hasznaltuk :) hat tiszta olyan volt mintha kempingeztunk volna.
Szerencsere penteken jottek a misszionariusok egy nagy autoval es segitettek atvinni a kanapet es a maradek cuccot szoval vegre minden a helyen volt.
Szombaton vissza is adtuk a kulcsot es fellelegeztunk, hogy ennek a fejezetnek is vege az eletunkbol. Emberek vegre van sajat kulcsom vagyis mindenhez 2 kulcsunk van es van postaladank is!!!!!!!! igaz 4 csalad osztozik rajta es a szomszed asszonynak van csak kulcsa hozza, de legalabb o minden nap megnezi es behozza ha van posta, mig a regi lakasban egyszer kaptunk postat egy honapban amikor jott a tulaj a rezsi penzert. Ugy utaltam mint allat, marmint azt, hogy nem lehet sajat postalada kulcsunk es nem kaphattam postat akkor amikor megerkezett hanem egy honapot kellett ra varnunk.

Most majd terheleses vercukor vizsgalatra fogunk menni jovo heten es majd ujabb ultrahangra, mert a mostanin babuci 28 hetes 6 napos volt, de a sulya alapjan egy 30 hetes babanak felelne meg es a doki arra gyanakszik, hogy gesztacios cukorbeteg vagyok, ami akar igaz is lehet, de igazan most mar nem erdekel. Mar annyi minden miatt aggodnom kellett eddig, hogy ha mindent komolyan vennek tovabbra is akkor hamarosan teljesen hulyeve valtoznek, mar ha eddig nem lettem az.
Amugy a kis draga mar szepen elhelyezkedett, remeljuk nem fog atfordulni vagy ilyesmi. A feje az a jobb oldalamon van es lent, a kis teste pedig a bal oldalt es a labikoi pedig jobbra fent. Igazan a fejet ereztem eddig meg es mostanaban a labikokat. Vagy ket napja pont mondtam Martinnak, hogy tegye oda a kezet es vegre hosszu ido utan eloszor olyan ficankolast rendezett babuci mint amilyet meg soha, de szerencsere vegre Martin is erezte. A legjobban az tetszett, hogy bizonysagteteli vasarnapon a fejrem kiment es a bizonysagat tette es babuci eppen akkor kezdett el tancikalni, de ez nem az elso alkalom volt, de hat mit is varhatnek el hiszen az apja fia :)
Ja es mar napok ota ez az edes skotjuhasz kutya borzolja a kedelyeinket de foleg az enyemet. Meg hetfon lattam a buszbol es kedden kiderult, hogy eppen az utca masik oldalan ul egesz nap es var egy haz elott, de senki nem engedi be ot. Ugye ne is mondja, hogy en meg mint aki meg van huzatva minden ot percben megemlitem a ferjemnek, hogy a kutyuska visszajott, mellesleg a kutyuskat magyarul szoktam mondani, mert az ugy aranyos, de sajnos addig amig meg azt sem tudjuk mennyibe fog kerulni a szules nekem addig sajnos nem vehetunk magunkhoz egy kutyuskat sem, meg ha annyira nagyon szeretnem is es raadasul itt is van a lehetoseg ra, na de majd meglatjuk csodak azert vannak. Szerencsere mikor eloszor beszeltunk a tulajjal akkor megkerdeztuk tole, hogy lehetne e kutyank es mondta, hogy persze.

Oh, that is our toilet. On Saturday they closed the water and finally that nice liquid started to run like crazy. We hoped that it will not come out and flood us, but luckily it did not do :)
